This single origin is one of two exceptional coffees we are grateful to carry from producer Bedhatu Jibicho. Bedhatu Jibicho has managed her 84 acre farm for the past 50 years. In a typical year she has 20 year-round workers on the farm and hires another 130 workers for harvest, primarily women. In 2013 Bedhatu, along with the support of her sons and the Yirgacheffe Coffee Farmers Cooperative Union (YCFCU), started an exporting company. Roba and Family Coffee is now one of the most successful single-family exporters in the Gedeb District.
This coffee is harvested and then immediately spread out on raised beds in a single layer where it is dried over a period of 12 to 20 days and hand sorted continuously.
