Alexander Suarez Figueroa’s four-hectare farm lies in the “vereda” of Siberia, in the heart of Acevedo, Huila. Finca Mirasol, or “Sunflower Farm” named by Alexander’s Grandfather, sits at 1700 metres above sea level (masl). Despite the many challenges of coffee farming, three generations of the Figueroa family successfully overcame any obstacles together. With the family legacy on his shoulders, Alexander maintains to produce the highest quality in coffee. Once the cherries are hand selected at their peak ripeness, they are fermented in two stages; first with the whole cherry in bags for 40+ hours, then they are washed and left out to dry on a marquesina for 15 days.
